What is Microneedling?

For skincare concerns, including fine lines, laxity, and other signs of premature aging, microneedling is an effective, minimally-invasive treatment option. Also called collagen induction therapy, microneedling works to heal your skin from beneath the surface for a smoother, healthier complexion.

How does Microneedling work?

Fine needles make minuscule punctures in the skin. This triggers the skin’s natural healing process, helping to create new skin cells that can replace dull, damaged skin cells.

Naturally-occurring collagen in the body decreases as people age, leading to a loss of volume and firmness in the skin. Microneedling combats that issue by stimulating collagen production in the skin. As your skin produces more collagen, your complexion will appear healthier and uniform in tone and texture.

After a treatment, you’ll notice immediate improvement in your skin's appearance. However, as it takes time for collagen and new skin cells to develop, the results will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the best results around three to four weeks after treatment. Results will also continue to improve with each additional session.

I was involved in a car accident(rear ended at a red light), and it caused my left implant to rupture. Prior to the accident, I wasn’t planning on having to have surgery since all was well. However, after the accident, I had pain and felt I looked disfigured in a way. I was quite scared and nervous, but then I found Dr. Watts practice. The consultation made me feel at ease, and I felt confident Dr. Watt could fix me. I booked my appointment, and the entire process was so smooth and comforting. The entire office staff, my anesthesiologist, nurses, and Dr. Watt made me look like I did before the accident. I highly recommend Dr. Watt and his fantastic staff. Thank you all for helping me!! Beautiful work, he deserves more than 5 stars.

The process at Dr. Watts office is so streamlined and simple, it almost felt too easy. My consultation and pre-op appointment were very quick and I was slightly nervous because I didn't spend much time with Dr.Watt prior to the surgery. All that said, I could not be happier with my results. Dr.Watt came highly recommended and he did a PHENOMENAL job. My pain was almost non-existent and I have a very low pain tolerance. Do not look any further if you want natural looking results and a highly skilled team. Dr.Watt is the best in Tampa - look no further!PS after surgery they provided discounted laser treatments for scars - really great pricing!Great value, great results, great quality!

Dr. G, Kasey, and the rest of the team are all amazing! I chose Dr. G because I’d heard that all of her patients love their results and that’s she’s incredibly meticulous. the whole team made me feel really comfortable and confident about the procedure and Dr. G helped me narrow down what I wanted and what would work for my build. I’m about 4 months out from my surgery and I’ve never felt better about my body. It feels like a weight has been lifted off of me to not be insecure about my breasts anymore. Now they’re exactly what I always wanted, and I still feel like myself because they’re so natural looking!! And my scars are basically nonexistent. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Thanks to the whole team!

I had my first surgery with Dr. Girardot in February after massive weight loss. I had a reduction and lift and she far exceeded my expectations! Not only did she deliver breathtaking results but her care and compassion both before and after surgery was unmatched. She is so kind and really cares about you as a patient. I have a 2nd procedure in May with her and cant wait! I also get filler and botox with Jess and she is absolutely amazing. I love the entire Watt Plastic Surgery team and wouldn't go anywhere else for my aesthetics/surgeries!

Well…. I don’t even know where to begin. This by far has been the best experience with Dr. Watts office and staff. I had my own personal experience and ended up developing some blood after my breast augmentation and when I tell you the staff acted very quick and I was back in surgery just 2 days later and everything was taken care of. I look forward to my full healing/recovery process. If anyone is looking for a Dr. for any type of breast augmentation, mommy make-over, or plastic surgery in general, I recommend coming to Dr. Watt Plastic surgery for beautiful work. Dr. Watt is the artist of plastic surgery.Thank you Dr. Watt to you and your staff for such an amazing experience so far.

About Us
How much does microneedling cost?

During your consultation, we will perform a skin analysis and develop your custom treatment plan. We will then discuss your treatment costs and what to expect during the procedure. Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa often offers specials on treatment packages, so be sure to ask about our current deals during your consultation.

What exactly is microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive procedure to improve the health of your skin. Collagen helps keep your skin supple, smooth, and firm. Eventually, your natural stores of collagen are depleted, and your skin becomes thin and less elastic. Microneedling creates small skin wounds. These micro-injuries cause your skin to increase its collagen production and generate new skin cell growth. Once healed, your complexion appears brighter, firmer, and healthier.

Can I combine other treatments with microneedling?

During microneedling, channels are made that help other treatments penetrate the deeper layers. This is why microneedling is commonly done with other skin treatments, such as vitamin-rich serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma). During your consultation, we can discuss what treatments can help enhance your microneedling and which would most benefit your skin.

How many treatments are recommended for optimal results?

Most patients need 3 – 6 microneedling treatments to see optimal results. Although, how many treatments you need will vary based on your skin's condition and your goals. Microneedling can be safely performed every 4 – 6 weeks as needed. During your initial consultation, we can estimate the number of treatments you need based on your skin and goals. When you have reached your goal, getting touch-up therapies twice a year is recommended.

Is microneedling safe for everyone?

For the most part, microneedling is appropriate for all skin tones and types. Skin injuries created by microneedling are so minor there are rarely side effects after the treatment. Microneedling can be performed on most areas of skin, including the face, arms, neck, chest, and legs. Microneedling is not recommended if you've taken Accutane recently, plus if you have an active skin infection, herpes simplex, or open wound. In addition, you might not be a candidate for microneedling if you're pregnant, nursing, or getting radiation treatments.
