What Can I Expect from Liposuction Treatment?
Liposuction is an outpatient procedure with the patient under general anesthesia. We place a very small incision in the skin, and a cannula is placed. A cannula is a special tool that makes it easier to loosen fatty tissue as it's removed. Once the desired amount of fat deposits are removed, Dr. Tony Watt will close the small incision. Based on the number of sections treated, your procedure could take 1 – 3 hours. In the dedicated recovery area, your post-op team will help manage your pain and care for your treated areas until your discharge.
What To Expect After Liposuction
Following liposuction, you will likely experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness in the treated areas. These symptoms are normal and will subside over time. We will provide you with a compression garment to wear, which helps support your new contours as you heal. Most patients can return to work and light activities within a few days, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks. Dr. Watt will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and make sure you are healing properly. While you may notice some immediate changes, your final results will become more apparent as the swelling resolves.

Absolutely incredible experience with Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa!I was referred to Dr. Watt by my friend, Jamie Applefield, years ago. Jamie now works there as an injector and has always had the best things to say about the office and team. My first visit was to see her for Botox and lip filler, and everyone I interacted with that day was warm, welcoming, and professional.While I was there, I decided it was finally time to move forward with something I wanted to do for a long time, a breast reduction and lift. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Watt, where I also inquired about liposuction on my stomach. Dr. Watt was very honest and explained that liposuction wouldn’t achieve the results I was looking for in that area. Instead, he educated me about a tummy tuck as the more appropriate option. He wasn’t pushy at all but he was very informative. How much does liposuction cost?
The liposuction varies depending on the technique being used and the amount of areas being treated. In your consultation, Dr. Watt will develop your unique treatment plan based on your needs and goals. He will also take into consideration your budget. Once your plan is developed, estimated costs can be discussed. Will I have scars?
Since liposuction is an invasive surgery, incisions will be made and stitched. This will create scars, but Dr. Watt does his best to minimize their appearance. This starts with making small, thin incisions in less visible areas or the natural folds of your body. After your surgery, Dr. Watt or a member of his team will explain how to care for your incisions so they heal flat and eventually fade.
Will my results last?
Before liposuction, it is important to be committed to maintaining your results. While liposuction reduces the amount of fat cells in an area, you can still lose and gain weight. Dr. Watt recommends that you be at or near your ideal weight before liposuction. Afterward, staying within 5 – 10 pounds of your post-surgical weight is best. Getting pregnant after liposuction will also alter your results; however, a second surgery or mommy makeover can be done to refresh your body.
